Graduate Certificate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
| This course, along with the Postgraduate Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, is offered by Kurongkurl Katitjin address the need for people working in the health care system to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding of the special circumstances and health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. People with an undergraduate degree or with relevant work experience are eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate course, which is offered by distance education. This means that you can study at home (wherever you live) and do not have to travel to and from classes. Distance education lets you undertake your studies at a time of the day that suits you best, making it much easier to combine work with study. The Graduate Certificate course provides students, non-Indigenous and Indigenous, with a thorough understanding of the historical, social and cultural factors contributing to the poor health status of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; a awareness of the sources of data and ways of assessing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health; and knowledge of current health status.
